As we round out our LAUNCH Food Accelerator, our innovators are busier than ever. Read on to see what they’re up to.

HarvestPlus has been selected for the next round in the MacArthur Foundation’s 100&Change competition! They are now one of four finalists competing to receive a $100 million grant.

Evaptainers will join us in person at our #InnovatingNow live event! They’ll be at Global Innovation Week presenting at an agriculture innovation pitch session and on the Demonstration Stage. They’re in the process of distributing EV8 evaporative cooling prototypes to approximately 150 families in the Anmiter region of Morocco thanks to financial support from USAID’s Global Development Lab. Finally, read their guest post on Siemens Stiftung’s Empowering People Network: Serena Hollmeyer explains how her team is using human-centered design in their pilots in Morocco.

Salah Sukkarieh of The Digital Farmhand is featured on the University of Sydney’s blog. He talks about how robotics and artificial intelligence will both disrupt and help grow industries like agriculture, education, and manufacturing.

Biofilta is working closely with several schools in Australia to design school gardens that will serve as educational tools as well as a source of urban food production for a partner NGO focused on food security.

Telenor Mobile Agriculture achieved a huge milestone when they reached their four millionth farmer in Pakistan. They continue to grow and strengthen their focus on reaching more women farmers. And, with support from the LAUNCH network, they’re integrating a new weather prediction component into Prosperous Farmer.

FoodSwitch is expanding operations! You’ll see them in Hong Kong as early as this quarter.

Earlier this month, Robert Oliver presented the first screening of his Pacific Islands Food Revolution “sizzle” to senior ministers of Samoa, Cook Islands, Vanuatu, Nauru, Tuvalu, Niue, New Zealand, and the head of the Pacific Island Forum.
