Bio-based polymer resins

THE PROBLEM

The use of composite materials is growing, but most are made with petroleum-based, non-biodegradable resins. This makes it difficult to recycle the composite material. It also makes the material non-biodegradable.

THE INNOVATION

A bio-based and biodegradable resin for composite manufacturing enabling fully bio-based composites. The polymer resin we have developed can replace traditional oil-based resins in composite production.

THE VISION

To create a strong and tough bio-based binder that can replace toxic epoxy resins in structural application e.g. the wind turbine industry. Furthermore this resin will enable disassembly of products after ended usage, thus facilitating a considerably better recycling of components.
