Infinited Fiber Company
INFINITED FIBER COMPANY is a technology that produces cellulosic and ecological fiber textiles and non-woven fibers from paper waste.
Imagine if all textiles were made from reused fibers – infinitely.
THE PROBLEM
Due to growing population and prosperity, today’s global use of cellulosic textile fibers is expected to double from 30 to 60 million tons by 2030. The most common cellulosic fiber, cotton, has a major ecological impacts (20000 liters of water is used per 1 kg cotton), and cotton growing has reached its economic and ecological limits. Still, over 70 million tons of textiles are sent to landfills (6% landfill waste).
THE INNOVATION
Infinited Fiber Company has developed a process technology that can turn textile and paper waste into new fibers for the textile industry – not just once, but infinitely, with no decrease in the quality of the fiber. They provide technology to chemically regenerate Infinited Fibers for the fashion and technical textile industries with the ability to replace 100% viscose fibers, representing a 6 billion USD global market, CAGR 10%. Infinited Fiber Company can also replace cotton in several applications. The technology has major cost and ecological advantages and fits any existing pulp and viscose fiber plant. Infinited Fiber Company’s business approach is to license the technology. Furthermore, Infinited Fiber Company is actively developing joint-ventures and produces business cases with other companies that have good access to raw materials.
THE VISION
Infinited Fiber Company’s vision is to revolutionise the fashion world by changing the wasteful nature of clothing manufacture. Besides developing their own technology, Infinited Fiber Company invite all radical recycling innovators to join the process of building an ecosystem with maximum impact. With the technology of Infinited Fiber Company the ecological benefits include reduction of the usage of virgin materials, reduction of the usage of endangered and ancient forest and a decrease in the textile waste thrown into landfills that todays accounts for 70 million tones globally.
“We love the LAUNCH Nordic objective to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society through building an essential ecosystem of industry collaboration, academy and governments to help us as innovators to work together with the world’s leading companies sharing the same vision of a better world and good business”
– Infinited Fiber Company, CEO Petri Alava, 2016.
