Matt Gardner is the founder of Innovation Counsellors, LLC, where he serves a broad clientele in life science and systems-level innovation strategies. He has briefed the Scottish Life Science Association, UC Davis, Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, and the North Carolina Biotechnology Center. His recent startup engagements include Farmatic, Inc., Bioxiness, Jujama, and Cancer Commons.
Matt has served as President and Chief Executive of BayBio; North American Director of Business Development for Queensland, Australia; Chair of the Life Science Advisory Boards to two Congressmen; and Director of the Maryland Bioscience Alliance. He has advised the California Association for Local Economic Development; the Alameda County Workforce Investment Board; UC Davis External Research Advisory Board; and the University of Maryland Industrial Partnerships Program.
Matt also served on the boards of the Maryland Technology Development Center, the Global Board of Advisors for the Patent and License Exchange, and the Life Science Advisory Board to the World Bank. He served on the Corporate Relations Advisory Group at Johns Hopkins University and an advisor to the California Commission for Economic Development.
He earned a BA and MA from the University of San Diego, and serves as adjunct faculty at the University of San Francisco.
