Guy AlLee is a computer industry veteran with over 25 years experience in computer architecture, hardware, and software. He is a Research Scientist in Intel Labs, Intel’s research arm, delivering breakthrough technologies that bring the benefits of the ongoing digital revolution to everyone. He is Manager of the New Mexico Energy Systems Research Center, researching 380VDC microgrids for IT, lighting, renewable energy, energy storage, electric vehicles, and variable speed motors, as well as unique applications of Cloud Data Centers as loads to increase renewables integration on the electric grid. The research center is part of Intel Labs’ Energy & Sustainability Lab which envisions the smart-grid with energy-smart homes, offices and neighborhoods – the next big inflection point since PCs, cell phones and the Internet. He is also working with the statewide New Mexico Green Grid Initiative on researching and demonstrating what a statewide smart-grid would entail and provide in benefits. He holds a BSEE, an MSECE and is currently an ECE Doctoral Candidate at Portland State University.
