As Vice President of the Advanced Concepts and Business Development Group, Jim is focused on maintaining and strengthening the flow of technology, information, and communication between development and manufacturing by investigating new technology related to cutting edge chemistry, fibers, fabrics, processes, new growth channels, and collaboration initiatives.
Jim has more than twenty years of textile experience. Along with his extensive knowledge of fabric manufacturing, he has global expertise in partnership development and operations management. Jim has been instrumental in many fabric creations at Polartec, and in the rebuilding of the US manufacturing operations after the devastating 1995 mill fire. He also took a leading role in training and technical support for the Eastern European facility, and establishing and managing the Asian manufacturing partnerships.
Jim holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering, a BA in Textile Technology, and a MS in Textile Management from the Institute of Textile Technology. He is the co-author of numerous Polartec product patents.
Residing in Derry, New Hampshire, Jim takes advantage of New England’s beauty by participating in a variety of outdoor activities, such as kayaking and hiking, where he puts some of the Polartec fabrics through their paces.
