His career has been devoted to futures forecasting, innovation, strategy and insights for food, fashion and many other categories He is the founder of C’EST WHAT?, the Mindful Innovation firm based in San Francisco. Prior to C’EST WHAT?, Michael was “Dean” of Innovation for Gap, Inc. - leading innovation, organizational effectiveness and creativity programs across all their brands and functions. Prior to Gap, Michael held Insights, Innovation, Strategy and Global Marketing leadership roles with Levi Strauss and Company. In addition to Gap and Levi’s, Michael has innovation experience with a spectrum of brands including adidas, General Mills, Del Monte, Dairy Farmers of America, Starbucks, Google, Naval Post-Graduate Institute, Gensler Design and more. Michael sits on the advisory board of Fair Trade USA. He’s also a certified futurist mindfulness practitioner. Michael believes innovation is the “ability to perceive alternative realities and the courage to act upon those visions”. He lives in Larkspur, CA with his family and yellow lab, Artimus.
