Gustavo Delgado

Gustavo is currently acting as a Senior Foreign Affairs officer in the office of the Secretary of State’s Science and Technology Advisor, concentrating on technology, innovation and non-traditional diplomacy. Prior to that, he served as Political Minister Counselor at the U.S. Mission in Mexico. He also served in senior positions at our Embassy in Serbia, and at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, drawing on decades of experience in political negotiations, crisis response, peace keeping, and multi-lateral diplomacy. He worked as a Special Assistant to Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte and as a Congressional Fellow in the office of Senator Joe Lieberman. He served as the Director for Partnerships and Public Affairs in the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations during the office’s reorganization as a Bureau. Gustavo is a graduate of Cornell University and the Naval War College. He speaks Spanish, Italian, and Serbian. He is married and has three sons.
