The Earth, with its diverse and abundant life forms, including over 6 billion humans, is facing a serious water crisis.
LAUNCH hosted LAUNCH: Health, a global forum focusing on health issues, at the agency's Kennedy Space Center in Florida from Oct. 30-31, 2010. LAUNCH selected ten innovations that are preventive with a focus on nutrition, exercise, and health care. Specifically, the LAUNCH Challenge Statement focused on innovations providing and improving:
LAUNCH successfully executed two challenges focused on water and health. The next global challenge focused on energy. LAUNCH and its partners believe that sustaining quality of life requires transformative advances in energy science and technology, along with new models, programs and behaviors. The LAUNCH: Energy Forum, which brought together innovators and council members, took place at the NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida on November 11-13, 2011.
During the three day Forum at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA from July 20-22, LAUNCH innovators discussed their most pressing business and program issues with LAUNCH Council members, who represented the business, waste management, investment, international development, policy, engineering, science, communications and sustainability sectors. The sessions were designed to identify key challenges and opportunities for the entrepreneurs' innovations in an effort to more rapidly accelerate their solutions toward even greater real world impact.
